Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has secured a contract to supply the powertrains to the Terex Construction's rigid dump truck, the TR60.

The vehicle manufacturer will power the truck with a 16L V8 industrial engine that generates an output of 700hp (515kW) and torque of 3183Nm at 1500rpm.

According to the company, the engine fulfills the US Tier 4i/ EU Stage IIIB standards and will be deployed in the truck during the BAUMA exhibition that is being held in Munich, Germany between 15 and 21 April 2013.

Scania Industrial Engines sales director Anders Liss said the company's engines have performed well in Terex articulated dump truck applications and expects to install one engine in their rigid dump trucks.

"We see this as a further step in the direction of a strengthening the relationship between Terex and Scania," Liss said.

Scania also delivers engines for Terex articulated dump trucks, the TA250s, TA300s and TA400s that include 9L and 13L engines.
