Dallas-based P&C insurer, the Republic Group has hired Timothy Wiedmeyer to act as the companies' vice president of claims.

Prior to this, Wiedmeyer worked with West Bend Mutual Insurance, a regional property and casualty insurer distributing its insurance products through independent agents, from 1996 to 2011.

Wiedmeyer embarked his underwriting career with Heritage Mutual Insurance (now Acuity) and has overseen numerous management responsibilities, including commercial and personal lines claims, special investigations (SIU) and subrogation.

The Republic Group president and CEO Joe Mattingly said as a seasoned claims professional, Republic is gaining a leader experienced in strategic and tactical planning/ execution, change leadership, personnel development and process improvement.

"Tim's regional multi-line experience and his results oriented focus made him an excellent choice for Republic. We are extremely pleased that Tim has joined our management team," Mattingly added.
