Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles (MREVPL), the manufacturing arm of Indian auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra, is planning to launch the new Electric Vehicle (EV) e2o in India soon.

The Mahindra e2o will be produced at Mahindra Reva's Bengaluru plant, which has the capacity of producing 30,000 cars per year.

The EV will be powered by Lithium Ion batteries that have a range of 100km per charge, and can be recharged using a 15A plug point.

In addition to this, the new vehicle is also expected to have a provision to recharge using solar energy through the 'Sun2Car' system.

Mahindra & Mahindra President of Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors Dr. Pawan Goenka said that the Mahindra e2o will help the group usher in a positive change in the lives of the company's customers.

"This is significant step towards creating a comprehensive eco-system of sustainable mobility solutions, encompassing alternative technologies such as electric, hybrid and fuel cells into our research, development and commercialisation plans," Goenka added.
